China gets awarded with Best Foreign Pavilion Award
(MENAFN) China has been awarded the top prize for the best foreign country pavilion at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), which is currently being held in Tanzania.
The recognition was presented by Tanzania’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Selemani Jafo, just one day after the celebration of China Day at the event.
According to officials, 22 foreign nations are participating in this year’s trade fair, which serves as a major platform for promoting both domestic and international trade and investment. The event enables businesses to present their products, services, and innovations to a wide audience.
Jafo noted that this year’s edition includes 2,731 exhibitors from within Tanzania and 282 foreign participants representing the 22 countries involved.
China Day featured a broad display of the country’s industrial strengths, showcasing everything from high-tech advancements and renewable energy initiatives to traditional artisanal works and world-class manufacturing capabilities, Jafo added.
Also recognized during the fair was the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Center Ltd (EACLC), a major Chinese trade and logistics hub in the region. The organization was honored as the main sponsor of the 2024 event.
Cathy Wang, Director General of EACLC, received a certificate of appreciation from Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Tanzania’s Zanzibar, who officially opened the fair.
"This has significantly contributed to job creation, product competitiveness, and government revenue through taxation," she stated.
