India Plans Conducting Military Drill

(MENAFN) The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to carry out an extensive military exercise from July 23 to 25 along the border between India and Pakistan, as reported by local media citing official sources.

The maneuvers will showcase prominent fighter squadrons equipped with frontline aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-30, Rafale, and Mirage 2000.

Additionally, air defense mechanisms and vital support infrastructure will be involved, according to a news agency.

This exercise is part of the IAF’s routine operational preparedness training and follows two months after a military confrontation between India and Pakistan.

An official informed the news agency, “The exercise is scheduled to take place in Rajasthan near the International Border, and is part of the Air Force's regular operational readiness drills.”

The official added, “It could be between two or three commands of the Indian Air Force. We keep issuing NOTAM (notice to airmen) during such exercises to keep airspace cleared of any civilian aircraft.”

Local authorities also mentioned to the press that the drills will emphasize improving night operational skills.

Earlier in May, a military standoff between India and Pakistan tested the combat aircraft abilities of the Indian military.

Throughout the four-day conflict, New Delhi deployed a combination of foreign and indigenous systems, including warplanes of Russian and French manufacture, against Pakistan.
