Erdogan, Finnish counterpart to discuss ties, regional, global issues
Highlighting Ankara’s efforts to boost trade with Helsinki, Erdogan expressed Türkiye’s intention to further strengthen relations through forthcoming initiatives.
Türkiye is also focused on supporting the successful conclusion of the peace process between Ukraine and Russia. Erdogan emphasized that the Istanbul talks serve as a diplomatic platform whose "effectiveness has already been proven."
"President Erdogan stated that Türkiye is closely monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, that lasting peace in the region is possible only through the two-state solution vision, and that Finland’s recognition of the State of Palestine would be welcome," the Directorate added.
Additionally, Erdogan extended his congratulations to Stubb on Finland’s upcoming Independence Day, celebrated on Dec. 6.
