Moscow Hosts Opening of 2025 BRICS+ Counter-Terrorism Conference

(MENAFN) Moscow hosted the opening of the 2025 BRICS+ Counter-Terrorism Conference on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed.

Operating under the ministry's direction, the gathering focuses on "National and Regional Counter-Terrorism Strategies Amid Emerging Security Challenges and Threats."

The summit has assembled government representatives, civil society leaders, and academic experts from BRICS+ member states, alongside specialists from the UN, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Participants are examining critical issues including terrorist financing networks, the criminal exploitation of information and communication technologies, extremism, and radicalization processes.

Attendees will conduct threat analysis exchanges and discuss proven operational methods. The conference seeks to bolster the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Working Group's efforts while deepening collaborative ties through the alliance's established counter-terrorism framework and implementation roadmaps.
